A record, never a report card

Tick off each prayer as you go. One you haven't logged stays neutral. Nothing turns red, and a missed day is never announced.

What is Prayr?

Prayr is a free app for your daily worship, all in one place: prayer times, the Qur'an to read and listen to, Islamic podcasts, du'as, a zakat calculator, Islamic dates, and short articles. It runs in your web browser, so there's nothing to download from the App Store.

Do I need an account?

No. You can open Prayr and start using it straight away. Sign up only when you want your data saved across your phone, tablet, and computer. Until then, everything you do stays on the device you're using.

Is Prayr free?

Yes, Prayr is completely free to use.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Prayr works in your normal web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. On most phones you can add it to your home screen so it opens just like a regular app.

How does Prayr know my prayer times?

You pick your location and the calculation method your community follows, and Prayr works out your times right on your device. You can also nudge the times by a few minutes to match your local masjid.

Why are my times slightly different from my masjid?

Masjids sometimes round the time, use a different method, or follow a national timetable. Choose the method closest to the one you trust, then adjust the times in settings until they line up.

9 more questions
Can Prayr remind me when it's time to pray?

Yes. Turn on notifications for Prayr and it will let you know when each prayer comes in. You're in full control of this in settings.

Can I read and listen to the Qur'an?

Yes. You can read the Qur'an, listen to a range of reciters, and even follow the words as the recitation plays.

Are there podcasts?

Yes. You'll find Islamic podcasts from a range of speakers in the same Qur'an and audio section, with search and easy playback.

How do du'as work?

Du'as are grouped by occasion, like morning and evening or travel, so they're easy to find. You can bookmark the ones you use most. Before you sign in your bookmarks stay on your device, and they move into your account when you sign up.

How does the zakat calculator work?

It guides you step by step through your gold, silver, cash, and what you owe, then works out the zakat due. When you're online it uses live gold and currency prices. It's a helpful guide, so do check important figures with a scholar or accountant before paying.

Does my progress count if I'm not signed in?

Yes. Your prayers, habits, and bookmarks are saved on your device, so your progress shows even without an account. When you sign up, Prayr can carry it all over for you.

What happens to my data when I make an account?

If you used Prayr as a guest first, it offers to copy your recent prayers, habits, and saved du'as into your new account. After that, the guest copy on your device is cleared so you don't end up with two versions.

Where is my data kept before I sign in?

It stays on the device you're using, in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to sign in. Clearing your browser data will remove it, so sign in if you want it saved safely.

How do I suggest a feature or report a problem?

Head to Help and feedback in the menu to share an idea or report a bug. You can also see everything we've added recently in Release Notes.
