For students

Prayer around a timetable that changes every term

Lectures move, libraries close, and you are rarely in the same building twice. Prayr runs in the browser tab you already have open, reminds you before a prayer goes, and works out your times wherever you happen to be that week.

Why the browser matters

It is already open

The prayer app on your phone is in your bag. The tab on your laptop is in front of you, which is where the reminder needs to arrive.

Nothing to install
Works on a university machine, a borrowed laptop, or a locked-down library computer. No admin rights, no app store.
Desktop reminders
A notification before each prayer, on the machine you are actually working at, even with the tab in the background.
Moves with you
Home for the holidays, or a term abroad — change the location and the times follow. Your settings and history stay.
Qur'an in a tab
Read between sessions without picking up your phone, which is the thing that costs you the next hour.
Podcasts while you work
Lectures and series with a proper player: speed control, a queue, and your position kept per episode.
Zakat when it is due
Once you are earning, the calculator is in the same place as everything else rather than a spreadsheet you rebuild yearly.

The realistic bit

Asr is the one that goes

For most students it is not Fajr that slips first — it is Asr, because it lands in the middle of the afternoon, in the middle of a lecture or a lab, when leaving is awkward.

The useful thing an app can do is warn you early enough to plan around it: to know at 1pm that Asr is at 3:40 and the seminar runs to 4, so you pray before you go in.

Prayr shows the next prayer and a live countdown at the top of the home screen for exactly that reason, and lets you turn on a reminder for one prayer without being pinged for all five.

Open it in a tab and leave it there

No install, no account, no setup beyond your city. Pin the tab and it will tell you when the next prayer is due.

Questions

Asked often

Still stuck? Message us on X or email us. A person answers.

Will it work on a university computer?

Yes. It runs entirely in the browser, so it needs no installation and no administrator rights. Sign in and your settings follow you to whichever machine you are on.

Can I get a reminder for only one prayer?

Yes. Reminders are per prayer, so you can be notified about Asr without getting five notifications a day.

What happens when I travel or move for term?

Change your location and the times recalculate for where you are. Your calculation method, adjustments, bookmarks and history stay as they were.

Is there a mobile version?

The same site works on a phone, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
